26-27 GA3D Contest

In the 26-27 academic year, the GA3D composition contest returns. After a successful first edition in 25-26, the contest is expanding: students from Georgia Tech, the University of Georgia, Emory University and Georgia Southern University are invited to submit electronic pieces of any style or genre that utilize Ambisonics 3D audio formats. Selected finalists’ pieces will be featured at a concert in Atlanta in late April 2027.

Details:

• Open to currently-enrolled students at Georgia Tech, the University of Georgia, Emory University and Georgia Southern University.
• Pieces of any style or genre are welcome.
• Submissions must be in AmbiX format, 3rd to 7th order.
• Prizes: a total of $1000 in prize money will be awarded to the winners.
• Piece duration: approximately 5 to 12 minutes. This is a guideline, not a hard cutoff.

Important Dates:

• March 15, 2027: Deadline to submit entries.
• Late April 2027: Finalists’ concert in Atlanta.
